loam

by re|thread

loam is a sculpture built as the conceptual center of the myriad exhibition, tying all the other pieces together. The names, nicknames, or anonymised identifiers of over a hundred thousand hidden programmers are on the massive pile of screens and printouts in the shared center. A whirlwind of hardware from different eras, loam stretches its cables throughout the exhibition space. At the end of each of these tentacles, the people who helped, supported or inspired each artist to create their work are listed on an e-ink plaque.

A “nomometer” allows you to hear all the names permeating the space, streaming from each work. Don the headphones and explore the hall through sound.
